Is E-cig dangerous?

There is a lot of debate going on regarding if e-cigs are dangerous for your health. Unfortunately, you cannot trust what the newspapers write about the subject. The best current information is the study made on behalf of The U.K government, who has been acting in a very positive way in regards to E-cigs and helping to highlight that E-cigs are a way better alternative than regular cigarettes. We urge you to read for yourself what is presented below that summarizes the conclusions of the study. But also feel free to read the whole study on the U.K Governments official website.

Electronic cigarettes are 95% better than regular cigarettes according to new study

According to an independent study in England published in Public Health England (PHE), it is concluded that electronic cigarettes are significantly less dangerous than tobacco cigarettes and that electronic cigarettes can help smokers quit smoking regular analog electronic cigarettes.

On August 19, 2015, the UK Government issued a press release with the headline “E-cigarettes around 95% less harmful than tobacco estimates landmark review”  publicizing a new report commissioned by Public Health England by and led by Professor Ann McNeill (King’s College London) and Professor Peter Hajek (Queen Mary University of London), extolling e-cigarettes as a harm reduction strategy and minimizing the associated risks.

Public Health England (PHE) says that e-cigarettes could help many more people quit smoking. Data from its smoking cessation programme showed that 65%–68% of people who used e-cigarettes as well as nicotine replacement therapies succeeded in quitting.

“We want to encourage more smokers to try and quit completely with the help of an e-cigarette, or by using other nicotine replacement such as patches or gum, as this will significantly improve their chances of success.” said Newton.

Dr Lion Shahab, from University College London, said “I hope this illustrative experiment helps people see the huge damage caused by smoking that could be avoided by switching to an e-cigarette. Research we and others have conducted shows that vaping is much less harmful than smoking and that using e-cigarettes on a long-term basis is relatively safe, similar to using licensed nicotine products, like nicotine patches or gum. Using e-cigarettes or nicotine replacement such as patches or gum will boost your chances of quitting successfully.”
